At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - New Product Development to join the Wire and Cable Management team. This position reports to West Hartford, CT. This role will lead complex, cross-functional New Product Development programs from concept through commercialization and post-launch review. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing and executing project plans, aligning stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring projects meet customer, financial, quality, schedule, and business objectives.
The Senior Project Manager will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to drive successful product launches. This role requires strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and execution discipline in a fast-paced product development environment
Responsibilities
What Will You Do?
  • Lead complex, cross-functional New Product Development programs from concept through commercialization and post-launch review, coordinating Product Management, Engineering, Test, Sourcing, Advanced Manufacturing, Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, and other functions to achieve project and product KPIs.
  • Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated. Partner with Product Management and Engineering to translate customer needs, market requirements, product strategy, and portfolio priorities into executable project plans.
  • Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, success metrics, and project KPIs. Communicates schedule and changes to all stakeholders.
  • Lead Stage-Gate reviews and ensure compliance with established product development processes, governance requirements, and business standards.
  • Support business cases, launch readiness activities, commercialization plans, and post-launch performance reviews.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change-control impacts.
  • Facilitate timely decision-making, manage team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues with clear recommendations when needed.
  • Provide regular project reviews, executive updates, dashboards, and portfolio-level reporting to leadership. Lead lessons learned, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of project management practices.
  • Support portfolio prioritization, resource planning, and strategic roadmap execution.
  • Partner with other project managers to manage interdependencies across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Self-starter mindset with a drive to make a significant impact on project execution.
  • Travel as required based on project needs, up to 20%

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations, Marketing, or a related discipline required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PMP and/or Agile certification strongly preferred

Experience:
  • Typically requires 10 years of project or program management experience, including leadership of New Product Development initiatives
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional product development programs in a manufacturing, industrial, or electro-mechanical environment.
  • Experience working with Stage-Gate or structured product development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting product launches, commercialization activities, and post-launch reviews.
  • Experience managing executive stakeholders and influencing decisions without direct authority.
  • Experience with project portfolio management, resource planning, and project reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, quality, and operations.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies preferred.
  • Experience in Operations, Quality, Engineering, or Product Management preferred.
