Job Description

This role leads and coordinates projects that support manufacturing operations, facility upgrades, and equipment-related initiatives within a high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment. The Project Management Specialist acts as a key liaison between manufacturing, facilities, maintenance, engineering, and external vendors to ensure successful equipment installations, relocations, facility modifications, and continuous improvement projects. The position offers broad visibility, strong stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to drive projects that directly impact production efficiency and overall site performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate projects related to capital equipment installations, equipment moves, and machine relocations within a high-volume aerospace manufacturing facility.
  • Plan and manage facility modification projects, including layout changes, utility coordination, and facility readiness activities to support new or relocated equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules using tools such as Gantt charts to ensure all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and support capital equipment planning to ensure projects are delivered within financial targets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturing operations, facilities teams, maintenance personnel, engineering, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to schedule and oversee equipment installations, commissioning activities, and related facility work.
  • Support the development and review of facility layouts to optimize manufacturing flow, equipment placement, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and facilities teams to plan maintenance windows, equipment downtime, and resource allocation for project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate project status, timelines, and risks to stakeholders and manufacturing leadership through regular updates and reports.
  • Ensure projects align with manufacturing operations requirements, including maintenance planning and spare parts management considerations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on facility modernization, operational efficiency, and production performance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
