Job description

About Pair Team

At Pair Team, we're an innovative, mission-driven company reimagining how Medicaid and Medicare serve the most underserved populations. As a tech-enabled medical group, we deliver whole-person care—clinical, behavioral, and social—by partnering with organizations deeply connected to the communities we serve.

We're building a powerful care management service and platform that leverages AI and automation to scale meaningful, human-centered care. Our work is driven by top talent across clinical care, technology, product, and operations—working together to improve access and outcomes for all our patients.

We're one of the largest Enhanced Care Management providers in California and are on track to build the nation's largest clinically integrated network supporting high-need Medicaid members. Our model has demonstrated real impact, including a 58% reduction in emergency department visits and a 29% reduction in hospital admissions.

At Pair Team, we're not just delivering care—we're building the future of a more equitable, community-rooted Medicaid system.

About the Opportunity

As Project Manager at Pair Team, you will drive the development and execution of high-impact initiatives that expand care access and improve outcomes for underserved populations. In this highly cross-functional role, you'll lead mission-critical projects from concept through launch—shaping approaches to company operations while rolling up your sleeves to deliver results. Your work will directly influence how Pair Team scales its model and serves its most complex patients. This is a unique opportunity to execute and coordinate high-impact initiatives at a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

This is a fully remote position reporting up to the SVP of Central Operations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead high-priority operational initiatives from conception to completion
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects, such as new program launches, backend operational efficiencies, and AI-driven quality improvements, for example
  • Diagnose and resolve operational bottlenecks by bringing in new capabilities and tools
  • Act as a nimble, generalist problem-solver who can deploy quickly and effectively to the most urgent, high-leverage opportunities across the organization
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align on goals, measure outcomes, and iterate on programs
  • Build scalable systems that support growth and improve performance of both clinical and non-clinical teams

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of experience in operations, project management, consulting, or healthcare delivery
  • 2+ years of experience in a high-growth healthcare company—preferably one serving Medicaid or Medicare patients in a value-based care model.
    • Ideally, including Medicare risk adjustment and/or revenue cycle management
  • Proven ability to lead large, ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from 0 to 1.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, create structure, and drive execution across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with systems-building instincts and a track record of driving execution
  • Strong desire to work in an early stage startup environment that is fast paced, complex, and has minimal barriers to make decisions (no "red tape")
  • Passion for helping individuals experiencing complex chronic needs such as homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use disorder

Our Values

  • Lead with integrity: We keep our commitments and take responsibility for our actions. We are dependable and choose authenticity over perfection.
  • Embrace challenges: We leave our egos at the door and step forward into discomfort instead of back into safety. We help each other to learn and provide feedback using candor and kindness.
  • Break through walls: We go the extra mile for our patients, partners and one another, and we run toward hard things. We are resilient in our push for consistent improvement and challenge the status quo.
  • Act beyond yourself: We build each other up and respect boundaries. We seek first to understand and assume positive intent.
  • Care comes first: We hold ourselves to the highest standards for our patients. We are relentless in the pursuit of our mission, and ensure that we are taking care of ourselves in order to care for others.

Because We Value You

  • Competitive salary: $105,000 - $125,000 (depending on experience)
  • Equity compensation package
  • Medical, dental & vision with HSA/FSA and company HSA contribution
  • Remote-first with equipment and $100/mo home office stipend
  • Flexible PTO and 12 paid holidays
  • 100% company-paid life, disability & AD&D
  • Backup childcare, caregiver concierge, and financial guidance resources
  • Opportunity for rapid career progression with plenty of room for personal growth
  • Travel reimbursements for occasional travel for projects (estimated 1-2x/yr)
