Job description

At Landesign Construction & Maintenance, we build beautiful projects โ€” we build lasting relationships, thriving landscapes, and teams that love what they do. If youโ€™re the type of person who can balance a blueprint in one hand and a budget in the other, while keeping the crew motivated and clients smiling, weโ€™d love to meet you!

Weโ€™re looking for a Construction Project Manager who has experience taking ownership of projects from the first bid to the final walk-through. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on organization, enjoys problem-solving, values teamwork, and takes pride in delivering top-notch work on time and on budget.

We need someone who is as sharp with a budget as they are with people because how you lead a crew matters here as much as the numbers do.

Growth Opportunity

This role comes with a genuine path to Construction Division Manager for the right person. You will work directly with current leadership, take on real ownership of your projects and their outcomes from day one, and grow into broader P&L and team responsibility as you prove yourself. Landesign is a family-owned, locally-run company โ€” your work and your name carry weight here, not lost in a large corporate structure.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring profitability, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead bid review and estimating efforts, including accuracy checks, material takeoffs, subcontractor coordination, and proposal support.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing and manage procurement, submittals, and material deliveries.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, elevations, contracts, and landscape plans.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings, on-site inspections, and collaborate with architects, vendors, and inspectors.
  • Track project budgets, expenses, and profitability; prepare reports and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain client relationships, support business development efforts, and represent the company at industry events.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members; lead safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
  • Leverage construction software and technology tools to streamline workflows and enhance communication.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Assist with design as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3โ€“5 years of experience managing landscape construction projects of varying scale required.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager/Designer or similar role.
  • Strong background in construction management, estimating, budgeting, P&L oversight, contracts, safety protocols, and building codes.
  • Knowledge of landscape construction practices, including hardscape, softscape, grading, drainage, and equipment, including methods and materials.
  • Enhanced knowledge of industry best practices is a plus.
  • Proficient with construction/estimating software (e.g., Aspire, PropertyIntel, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints, contracts, and landscape plans.
  • Skilled in budgeting, cost control, and project financial management.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and teamwork abilities.
  • Leads with patience and precision โ€” someone who sweats the details on paper and treats crews and clients with respect in the field. This is a coaching-first leadership style, not command-and-control.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

What We Offer

Youโ€™ll be part of a collaborative team that values safety, innovation, and excellence. We offer competitive compensation, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to make a lasting impact on our clients and community.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth
  • A supportive, team-oriented work environment where collaboration is key
  • A stable, family-owned company rooted in the North Bay for decades, where your work is visible and your growth is invested in.
  • Competitive salary plus performance-based incentives
  • Paid time off
  • Health and wellness coverage
  • 401(k) savings plan
