Primary Responsibilitiesย 

  • Manage operations through the development ofย initialย project estimates with sales team and support of proposal development, client engagement on project planning and execution, project management of short and long-term projects to achieve target gross margin, production milestones, and client satisfaction.ย ย 
  • Oversee and approve weekly job cost updates and monthly revenue projectionsย 
  • Oversee and direct project teams by providing communication, coordination, and follow-up to meet project goals andย objectives; ensure project scope or work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.ย 
  • Manage and motivate staff to maximum productivity and cost control, andย facilitateย and conduct scheduling, safety, and training meetings/workshops.ย 
  • Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all project work;ย determineย and oversee all project controls,ย schedulesย and budgets.ย 
  • Serve as project representative with client, constructor, subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks, project review, and other meetings and correspondence.ย 
  • Review project progress reporting andย identifyย and put plans in place to address where a project needsย additionalย focus. ย 
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures withย trainingย manager to ensure project procedures are followed.ย 
  • Identifyย and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope,ย budgetย and/or schedule.ย 
  • Maintain ongoing communication withย client, makingย adjustments asย necessary toย comply withย client needs within contractual obligations, or adjust project deliverables to meet client and HUSA needs.ย 
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to Field Supervisor and crews to promote employee development.ย 

Job Qualifications and Skills:ย 

  • 5+ years' underground utility management experienceย 
  • Prior experience as Project Manager or Project Engineer where responsibilities include field operations in a service-related utility industry, estimating, contracts management, and client relations.ย 
  • Ability to obtainย undergroundย utility contractor license.ย 
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.ย 
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.ย 
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding HUSAโ€™s policies, procedures, and software programs.ย 
  • Ability toย identifyย and resolve any problems that may arise.ย 
  • Team building leader, with strong planning and organizational skills; adept in operations including contracts, negotiations, estimating, project operational controls, and dispute resolution.ย 
  • Position requires regularly standing or sitting for extended periods.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in planning and management of scope of work and time estimationย 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills at the executive levelย
