Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists Superintendent with creating a schedule and cost-effective plan, and continually updating for accurate 3-week Look-Ahead plan on weekly basis.
  • Supports team through collaboration while creating preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
  • Assist with coordinating work schedules of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers.
  • Supports Superintendent with creation of budget.
  • Communicates with Project Manager as needed.
  • Assists with inspections for quality and timeliness and providing progress reports to owners and architects.
  • Helps to ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
  • Assists Superintendent with obtaining required permits and licenses, monitoring budget.
  • Helps oversee subcontractors; answers questions, monitors work, etc.
  • Ensures a secure and healthy work environment by maintaining safety measures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Some understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
  • Some understanding of quality building practices.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field or relevant experience required.
  • At least two years of experience in building trades required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
