Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Test Engineer will work with our internal design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to test, analyze, and make data driven interpretations for products used on White River Marine Group vessels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Applies industry and commodity standards, theory, and methodology to test components for new products or current model improvements.
  • Tests, documents, and applies engineering principles across all commodities.
  • Works with equipment suppliers to identify testing improvements.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Works with hand tools and equipment as necessary.
  • Generates and modifies test models to support product development and current production. Maintains revision control and file management.
  • Creates and processes Engineering Test Procedures and update process documentation.
  • Ensures products are tested in compliance with ABYC, USCG, NHTSA and other applicable regulatory entity laws.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Associate Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or mathematical / scientific related field.
  • Years of experience: Two years or more in related field, Internship / Co-op experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ongoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to qualify for this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Experience in boat design, composites and manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS, ORCA, FEA, DATA ACQUISITIONS tools
  • Strong technical skills with ability to take data and put into format for easy understanding for all levels of experience/expertise
  • Ability to analyze information and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities, meeting deadlines while delivering quality results
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong organization skills and an attention to detail

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position is located within a comfortable office environment at White River Marine Group Headquarters in Springfield, MO. Projects may be co-located in a manufacturing plant and may involve frequent liaison trips to plants or local lakes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regular computer work, walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
