Nikkiso ACD is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as -420 degrees Fahrenheit. For over 50 years, Nikkiso ACD has specialized in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as turbines for air separation. Nikkiso ACD has the most diversified product line in the industry covering nearly every application requiring pumps or turboexpanders.

Job Overview

Working within the Nikkiso ACD Project Management Department, the Project Management Intern will assist the Project Management team in various project-related tasks. The intern will learn about the project lifecycle and contribute to ensuring project deliverables are met within budget and on time. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about project management methodologies, gain practical experience in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to the successful completion of project deliverables.

This position is based at Nikkiso ACD, LLC, located in Santa Ana, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in identifying project stakeholders and understanding their needs and expectations, under supervision.
  • Support the coordination of project management activities on assigned projects.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project work under supervision, and monitor progress to ensure on-time release and delivery.
  • Assist with basic cost accounting and risk/opportunity management tasks.
  • Help maintain regular contact with assigned project clients and equipment vendors, as directed.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with note-taking.
  • Assist in ensuring project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Support effective communication and coordination of project requirements between Nikkiso disciplines and project participants.
  • Help generate project schedules, project budgets, statements of work, and customer status reports, under supervision.
  • Assist in generating project status updates.
  • Assist in creating and executing project work plans.
  • Effectively support project standards and methodologies.
  • Assist with file validation and document control processes.
  • Assist in tracking project budgets and expenses.
  • Assist in the collection and organization of project data.
  • Provide general administrative support to the project management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Work Environmental and Physical Demands

  • In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls
  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include week days, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • Lifting up to 30 lbs. may be required

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • New Employee Safety Training is required, including Safety Awareness.
  • All safety-related training will be provided.
  • Compliance with Nikkiso safety requirements is mandatory.
  • Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks.
