Job description

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL - we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.)
Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for evaluating scope of work, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing cost estimates for multifamily projects. Typical scope includes exterior/ interior door units, trim, door and bath hardware, wire shelving for closets, windows, hollow metal door and frames. You will also create submittals, rough opening schedules, hardware schedules, change orders, close out documents, and warranty documents.

Your Day-to-Day: to excel in this role, you will need to...
• Plan and coordinate estimating efforts.
• Find projects to quote through data services, existing customers and media.
• Download and print blueprints.
• Read through and highlight specifications.
• Clarify RFI's with General Contractor
• Perform take-offs from construction plans.
• Prepare product list to fulfill millwork requirements.
• Create and price estimates for multi-family projects.
• Prepare formal quotation in a format suitable for submission to prospective client.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and other in-house personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve preconstruction issues.
• Review estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
• Confer with architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on scope and changes to estimates.
• Provide technical support with contract negotiations and change orders.
• Manage project timeline and material shipments.
• Occasionally visit jobsites.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
