Position overview: 

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking a highly capable and experienced professional to serve as the Manager for OIG. They will work with the senior management team and serve as a project manager in making quality improvements for OIG. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment in the identification of priorities, to work collaboratively with internal and external partners, to proactively address legal issues, and to ensure timely completion of all work. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills to achieve goals while demonstrating independent initiative. The candidate will possess strong written and verbal skills.

Essential Functions
  • Subject to management approval, serves as Manager for the Asset Discovery Initiative (ADI), by planning, directing and evaluating the activities of the ADI program
  • Serves as full line supervisor
  • Conducts, reviews and evaluates Agency policies and programs affecting the Bureau of Medicaid Integrity Long Term Care (LTC) including Medicaid provisional eligibility and admissions
  • Represents the OIG at various committees, meetings, work groups, and other applicable meetings
  • Assists with the development of the annual report content for the unit and analyzing data from case reports
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of professional experience with Medicaid Policy, state statutes, and federal regulations as it relates to Long- Term Care
  • Five (5) years of professional experience with Medicaid provisional eligibility and admissions
  • Two (2) years of professional experience analyzing financial documentation and information on Long-Term Care applications for written recommendation
  • Two (2) years of professional experience analyzing trusts and annuities for Long-Term Care applications for written recommendation
  • Two (2) years of professional experience participating in the development and implementation of standard operating policies, procedures, performance standards, and/or process improvements
  • Two (2) years of professional experience developing and analyzing technical reports
  • Two (2) years of professional experience effectively disseminating program policies and objectives in verbal and written form for a public or private organization
  • Two (2) years of professional experience as a supervisor or leadership role
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires the ability to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
