Job description

Shop Manager – Modular Construction Salary: $45 to $60/hour, depending on experience and qualifications Position Overview Corner-Cast is seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of its manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily production activities while ensuring quality standards, health and safety requirements, and production schedules are consistently met. The Shop Manager will work closely with the production team, project managers, and senior management to deliver high-quality modular buildings in a dynamic and rapidly growing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Actively participate in shop work and support fabrication crews as required. Plan and coordinate fabrication activities to meet production schedules. Allocate manpower efficiently based on production priorities.

Ensure quality standards and manufacturing procedures are consistently followed. Enforce company health and safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and purchasing teams to optimize production.

Plan material, equipment, and resource requirements. Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of production personnel. Qualifications Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Carpentry, Welding, Metal Fabrication, Production Management, or another related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment.

Experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or structural steel fabrication is considered a strong asset. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.

Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations. ASP Construction Card is considered an asset.
