Position Summary

The Marketing & Group Sales Manager is responsible for assisting with the marketing and promotion of all live events within the Tyson Events Center / Fleet Farm Arena, Orpheum Theatre, and Sioux City Convention Center. This role executes creative, results-driven marketing campaigns that increase public and community awareness while driving ticket sales and revenue. Under the direction of the director of marketing, the marketing and group sales manager maintains relationships with media partners and ensures fulfillment of contracts while overseeing the media buying. This individual will assist in managing, supervising, and coordinating all activities of the marketing department to reach budget goals and generate revenue for the facility. They will implement marketing plans, manage event advertising budgets and promotions, and support successful sales for events.

This role pays an annual salary of $45,000-$50,000 and is commission eligible.

This position will remain open until July 31, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Create and execute marketing and group ticket sales campaigns for various concerts, family shows & sporting events to maximize event awareness and exposure.
  • Work directly with promoters for upcoming events to ensure successful event execution, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Design, create, and produce marketing and advertising materials, including digital ads, social graphics, flyers, posters, and other event-related creative.
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and make decisions in support of organizational objectives
  • Research, negotiate, and coordinate advertising placements and media opportunities.
  • Manage digital platforms, including website updates, event listings, design elements, and promotional initiatives.
  • Oversee the email subscriber database, including growth strategies and the creation and distribution of ticket-driving email campaigns.
  • Manage and implement ticket sales-driven promotions across all social media platforms, utilizing viral and digital marketing strategies.
  • Pitch creative stories and marketing strategies, write press releases, assist with public relations events, generate media hits, and build relationships with local media and outlying markets.
  • Assist the director with internal and external public relations such as event announcements, marquee messaging, website updates, and reporting to trade publications.
  • Create event marketing plans developed by the Marketing Department, including media buying, trade, public relations, grassroots, group sales, third-party relationships, community relations, etc.
  • Manage grassroots marketing initiatives, including poster and flyer distribution, community appearances, and expanded outreach efforts.
  • Prospect, cultivate, and service group sales and premium seating clients through networking, cold calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Coordinate and support on-site events such as pre-show parties as required.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of all group sales programs and activities.
  • Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly marketing performance metrics, including social media and email campaigns.
  • Carry out all assigned duties and responsibilities, including other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or better in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of prior marketing experience, preferably in sports & entertainment.
  • Experience in a customer service or sales-driven position.
  • Proficiency with media buying and promotions.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva with strong graphic design skills.
  • Must be well-versed in all major platforms and stay current on emerging trends and updates.
  • Team player who is creative, hard-working, a proactive problem solver, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented, resourceful, quick learner, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Public Relations.
  • Knowledge of website maintenance.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends is required, as job duties will involve non-traditional hours.
