Job Description

The Strategic Partnerships team leads the development and execution of global partnerships strategy, forging and managing best-in-class strategic alliances that enhance our guest experience, expand audience engagement, and drive revenue. The Manager, Corporate Partnerships will proactively manage assigned corporate partner relationships for domestic (U.S.) theme parks as it relates to strategic and creative direction, as well as the execution of associated co-branded campaigns to ensure the Company is maximizing both parties’ brand awareness, sales, market share and ROI.  This role requires both a keen marketing intellect and a disposition complimentary to partner relations. Partnership experience in consumer-packaged goods, financial products, professional sports, and/or sourcing is preferred. Serving as the face of the Company to corporate partners, a sound understanding of Universal Destinations & Experiences and the NBCU portfolio is critical.

Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 (bonus eligible)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 

The position requires strong strategic thinking, creative, analytical, communication (written and verbal), and project management skills, as well as the ability to work both interdepartmentally and with external third-parties to execute flawless campaigns.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years marketing experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Major Responsibilities (By % Percent of Time)

  • Strategically plan marketing tactics and campaigns to maximize the value of assigned corporate partnerships using both existing and innovative channels and experiential opportunities (30%)
    • Lead the development of annual strategic marketing plans which align with both Universal business objectives and partner interests
    • Coordinate media plans and manage partner media budgets
    • Provide sound, quantifiable projections to justify marketing strategies, campaigns, and plans
  • Develop and execute experiential, traditional, and non-traditional co-branded marketing campaigns using both existing and innovative channels (30%)
    • Brainstorm new content activation ideas and marketing campaigns across various consumer brand segments
    • Write creative briefs that inspire and provide valuable strategic guidance to internal and external agencies
    • Oversee the development and resulting project/program creative from internal design group, clients, and external agencies in a manner consistent with company initiatives/goals and partner interests
    • Manage/support in-park and on-site signage, product placement, experiential events, sampling, research, and other non-traditional marketing tactics
    • Lead the strategic management of all pre and post program analyses
  • Support Corporate Partnership’s alliance development efforts (10%)
    • Research prospective partners, partnership models, and perform all other necessary due diligence
    • Brainstorm partner and Company benefits/opportunities, areas of reciprocity, as well as terms, conditions, and guidelines of prospective partnership
    • Develop, and possibly deliver, pitch decks and other related presentations/material
  • Partner with Merchandise, F&B and Sourcing to maximize in-park/on-site product placement and sales: (10%)
    • Draft sales reports, as well as assess in-park retail environments, to continually improve product sales
    • Develop sales incentives and consumer-facing campaigns designed to increase in-park sales
  • Work interdepartmentally to coordinate logistics and ensure availability of product in-park, when necessary
  • Maintain positive and effective internal and external (corporate partner) relationships via video conference and in-person meetings for the sake of the partnership and health of the business (20%)
    • Effectively manage and counsel direct report(s)
    • Work with all levels of internal/external management including but not limited to Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents of Marketing, Sales, and Operations as needed for program development and partner management
    • Note: While partner relations might, technically, only account for 20% of the day, it is equally critical to the success of the job as the other responsibilities/functions
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
