About the role:

We are currently seeking a Traveling Project Manager who will oversee the installation, commissioning, and handover of multiple construction projects, ensuring successful execution on time, within budget, and in compliance with client and technical requirements. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in building automation systems, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee installation subcontractors and Controls Technicians during commissioning.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to address concerns and manage expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution.
  • Obtain, organize, and maintain all project contract documents.
  • Review and approve engineering submittals and technical drawings before handoff.
  • Track and manage change orders, purchase orders, and project expenses to maintain budget adherence.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including milestones, billings, SoV, and documentation within DivPro.
  • Assign commissioning work and oversee field personnel.
  • Review and approve weekly timecards for Controls Technicians.
  • Approve and manage the Bill of Materials (BoM) for each project.
  • Provide monthly project updates, including billing and financial reporting, to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in construction project management.
  • Strong understanding of building management systems (BMS), HVAC controls, and automation.
  • Technical expertise in electrical systems, commissioning, and risk management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills with attention to detail.
  • OSHA 30 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
  • If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 30 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and documentation tools.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel frequently to job sites by car or plane, up to 85%
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and lifts as required
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment when required (hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots)
  • Visual keenness to read schematics, labels, and digital displays
  • Ability to visually identify and differentiate wires by assigned color
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions
  • Capability to safely operate hand and power tools
