ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Associate Manager, Project Management, you will be responsible for delivering multiple projects with varying levels of complexity from scoping and ideation through development and commercialization, following SCJ’s End-to-End (E2E) process. You will inspire and motivate the team through these project stages to ensure deliverables, success criteria, timing, and risk/mitigation profile is clear and executed. You will seek out challenging tasks and take calculated risks. The E2E project manager drives project delivery from idea to commercialization to deliver business commitments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage business acumen to understand market and category dynamics to optimize business results.
  • Take on large or complex project/program management assignments.
  • Lead potentially-ambiguous project scoping to ensure a winning proposition and project success criteria are defined to deliver business objectives including costs, timing, and risks.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills on high-visibility projects by proactively communicating project risks, sponsor updates, and tradeoff discussions
  • Develop and execute project plan in collaboration with cross-functional team, including detailed timelines, milestones, budget, resources, and risk management.
  • Ensure all cross functional team members are engaged and aligned on the project plan, managing risk and trade-off discussions with stakeholders to enable progress against aligned milestones.
  • Model strong cross-functional leadership skills, including appropriate skills in effective communication, financial acumen, integrated risk management, project management, quality, robustness, regulation & safety, scientific rigor, and technical curiosity.
  • Apply rigorous timeline and risk management practices to effectively manage technical and timeline risks and identify solutions for the most critical path elements
  • Provide clear and consistent communication within the team and manage updates and escalations to Stakeholders, Sponsors, and Executives as necessary.
  • Demonstrate SCJ Success Drivers and establish a “Mindset to Win” Culture, moving with speed, creativity, and a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to influence without authority across multiple levels of the organization; keep teams working well together.
  • Ability to operate in a complex, non-structured environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of project management experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years relevant project management.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • 5+ years of technical experience (i.e. Chemist, Engineer, Packaging, etc.) or supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing projects from end-to-end from ideation through launch, including timeline development, leading risk tradeoff discussions, sponsor updates and escalations.
  • Experience in Project Management in consumer package goods industry.
  • Experience in new product launches, contract manufacturing, and financial analysis as it relates to supply chain.
  • Strong understanding and experience in using AI technologies and software for project management tasks including timeline generation, scheduling, risk analysis, sponsor communication and reporting.
  • Technical breadth and depth in product development and commercialization, global products experience, technology trends, competitive and IP landscape, systems, analytical test methods, and leveraging external technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a clear focus on high quality and timely delivery of objectives.
  • Natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and is reliable, tolerant, determined, and empathic communicator.
  • Excellent communicator with track record of presenting ideas with courage and conviction and ability to present project updates with all levels of management.
