The Class Consulting Group is a boutique management consulting firm headquartered in SFO-Bay Area that provides consulting services to senior management and Board of Directors of nonprofit/philanthropic organizations. It also offers community leadership opportunities to professionals. CLASS collaborates with its clients - the Non-Profit Organizations to help them realize their mission and create tangible value. CLASS offers business consulting services in Marketing, Strategy, Human Resources/ Organization, Finance and IT.
We are looking for motivated and committed individuals to join our volunteer-driven teams.
Position Type: Volunteering (All volunteering positions at The Class Consulting Group are unpaid).
Location- Remote

Board Responsibilities:
  • Assist the team lead in developing annual business plan and strategies to achieve the team goals and objectives.
  • Preside over the meetings and agenda of the team as well as tracking projects and ongoing activities.
  • Implement the BCS annual plans as per the calendar for the team. Implement the KPIs and progress of strategic projects and present management reports to the board in the absence of the team lead.
  • Monitor the complete lifecycle of multiple projects in different complexity and competing priority.
  • Create and maintain project resources including people; estimate resources and work efforts needed for all project activities and work with team lead in assigning appropriate resources to achieve project goals.
  • Assist in assessing and reviewing project requirements in the development of project proposals, ScopeOfWork (SOW) and Project Charter such as project timelines, work estimates, and milestones.
  • Recommend Key Performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to mature the PMO.
  • Participate in the evaluation, selection, maintenance and continuous enhancements of project management methodology, tools and templates, and contribute to the overall improvement of the PMO.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for growth and sound governing of the organization.
  2. Ensure fulfillment of the mission of the organization and strongly advocate organizational values.
  3. Oversee organization's budget, evaluate the organization's progress toward strategic goals and ensure sufficient resources.
  4. Act as ambassador for the organization. Promote the organization's image and public standing. Help promote diversity.
  5. Establish an organizational culture that embraces strategic planning and set clearly defined goals to initiate and lead the team evaluation and KPI.
  6. Report to the Board President.

Requirements:

Education Qualification & Experience

  1. Master's degree in Business/Management from a reputed business school.
  2. 15+ years of experience in the area of expertise [Management, Strategy, Marketing, Nonprofits, Sales, Consulting, Academia, etc.]with 8+ years of prior leadership background.
  3. Direct experience developing and implementing marketing and branding strategies.
  4. Demonstrated interest/passion in the non-profit/social responsibility sector.
  5. Demonstrated effectiveness in meetings and task forces seen as a leader.
  6. Solid professional reputation.

  1. Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment and taking initiative.

Commitment

  1. Minimum commitment of 1term [3 years] for the unpaid / pro-bono position.
  2. Attend Monthly Board meetings.
  3. Attend Weekly Meetings: Virtual [MS Teams]
  4. Time: 10-15 hours per month [excluding meeting time] depending on the need.
