Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Credentials or certifications from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, NEBOSH or equivalent agency.
  • 1 year of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in environmental regulations and safety and health protection.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience communicating with AHJ's (Federal, State, and Local Authorities) for notifications and permit conformance.
  • Experience working in data centers or with electrical safety.
  • Ability to advise, coach, influence, and collaborate with employees to achieve positive EHS outcomes.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in project management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the full lifecycle of EHS programs, which may extend beyond your immediate team, driving impactful operational and technical improvements. Manage the strategy and maintenance of physical security devices across Google's data centers to ensure safe, zero-downtime operations.
  • Anticipate issues, propose solutions, and identify needs to develop or improve EHS Operations tools/processes. Evaluate incident data and track corrective actions.
  • Evaluate EHS impact during data center design reviews, equipment, and process changes. Perform EHS risk evaluations and define process controls for new processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive AHJ compliance, manage permits/KPIs. Provide site ownership and drive EHS turn-up of new locations with little supervision, demonstrating complete campus EHS ownership.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, managing dependencies. Own site-based EHS decision-making and serve as a recognized SME in multiple EHS verticals.
