Job description

Capital Projects oversees the planning, development, and execution of capital improvement initiatives from concept through completion. This position is responsible for managing an annual capital budget of roughly $1.25 million while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational objectives. The Project Engineer collaborates with operations, maintenance, finance, and external partners to achieve successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate operational requirements, asset conditions, and strategic priorities to identify and prioritize capital projects.
  • Perform feasibility analyses, cost evaluations, ROI calculations, and risk assessments.
  • Create project charters, initial designs, and capital expenditure proposals.
  • Manage projects through all phases, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final closeout.
  • Develop comprehensive schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants to ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards.
  • Handle procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out site visits to track project progress, quality, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Oversee an annual capital budget of approximately $1 million.
  • Monitor project expenses, authorize invoices, and maintain accurate financial records.
