Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Quality BIM Coordinator is responsible for supporting the project management team throughout the i2/i3 phase of the process with a specific focus on quality assurance and the efficient documentation of punch list tasks from assembly to the i4 phase.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development, execution, and completion of all BIM 360 items during the assembly through the closeout phase.
  • Work closely with project management staff, production, contractors and subcontractors to address and resolve BIM 360 entries in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate quality assurance measures and checks throughout the project as well as embed quality checks and validation adherence to design and TAS standards.
  • Liaise with pertinent personnel to streamline the punch list process and quality checks.
  • Address any discrepancies in project deliverables and work to find swift resolutions.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all BIM 360 entries, their status, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Assist pertinent personnel in generating reports for stakeholders detailing the progress of BIM 360 item completion and quality assurance measures.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on TAS best practices and punch list management.
  • Provide feedback on recurring issues to refine the project process in the future.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

JOB SKILLS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • For a minimum of 2 years, the following must be met:
    • Experience in quality assurance and/or punch list coordination.
    • Familiarity with construction standards and regulations.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficient in BIM 360 or an equivalent software program.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • HVAC Trade school and/or apprenticeship training preferred.
  • Knowledge of 8D problem-solving methodology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily onsite at TAS facilities on the manufacturing floor regularly with a lot of bending, stretching, standing, sitting, reaching, and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Some office work is required for documentation, reporting, and meetings.
  • Involves travel to different TAS facilities.
  • Exposure to a few elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
  • Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness.
  • Use of safety glasses and steel toe boots are required.
  • Ear plugs are recommended.
