Responsibilities

  • Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy, including cost control, schedule control, quality control, safety compliance, and project close out
  • Supervises the work of assigned Project Managers
  • Helps the Group Manager develop proposals and estimates.
  • Works with the Group Manager to prepare project presentations
  • Obtains required Project Status reports monthly from Project Managers
  • Reviews, corrects, and understands Project Status Reports with Project Managers prior to submitting the reports to the Group Manager
  • Participates in the purchasing process for all projects assigned and provides final approval on all purchases that are not within target budget
  • Reviews, understands, and ensures administration of all owner contract requirements
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with clients and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities
  • Monitors/controls construction through administrative direction of Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
  • Identifies and investigates potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures
  • Promotes business development by representing the company in project meetings, presentations, business development opportunities, etc.
  • Develops and maintains client relationships. Works with BD staff to pursue new work/clients
  • Manages financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with clients
  • Becomes involved in industry associations in order to promote the company
  • Trains subordinates and monitors their development
  • Completes annual performance evaluations of subordinates as required
  • Manages and provides leadership in assigned pre-construction activities
  • Works with management to implement strategic initiatives
  • Seeks training and participates in industry associations to stay current with trends and legislature as they affect our industry
  • Pursues individual training and goals set at performance review
  • Performs additional assignments as directed

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, related degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Academic project and clients a plus.
  • At least fifteen years of increasingly responsible experience in and knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
  • Must have a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their effect on project activities
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills are essential (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)
  • Significant business skill required
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with related in-house programs (Prolog Manager, Microsoft Project, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to project a positive image of the company at all times
  • Able to make significant independent judgments
  • Membership in one or more industry associations a plus

We are currently looking for a highly experienced and strategic Project Executive with a strong background in academic and commercial construction. Reporting to the Group Manager, this individual will provide executive-level oversight across multiple projects, guiding teams from early client engagement & preconstruction through project completion. This role also includes developing new business opportunities within a specific market sector, client group, or project type.

Salary Range: 

The anticipated base salary for the Project Executive role is $190,000 - $250,000. Please note that base pay is only one part of Erland’s total compensation package. Your actual salary will be determined by your unique skills, experience, education, and specific qualifications. Because we stay competitive, our ranges are reviewed regularly against market trends and may vary by geographic location.
