Project Executive

Baltimore, MD Full-Time/Regular

Position Summary

This position is responsible for setting up and managing a portfolio of projects carried out by the project delivery teams. Project Executives manage less experienced project management staff, including providing performance feedback and coaching to team members. Role is accountable for profitable delivery of projects within the portfolio. Ensure that projects achieve the client's goals and are delivered at the highest quality and with optimal financial results.

Position Details
  • Collaborates with Account Executives and Solutions Executives during preconstruction to review project constructability and risk, develop construction pricing, and to prepare labor/staffing as well as construction schedules.
  • Reviews and manages contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Oversees project construction teams /multiple project teams.
  • Labor management for project delivery teams including staffing plans/hiring and performance appraisals.
  • Functions as primary point of contact for project team(s).
  • Provides project status updates to clients and leadership.
  • Maintains positive client relationships and works with client and Account Executives to identify new opportunities.
  • Works with internal and external resources to develop and implement construction delivery strategies.
  • Financial portfolio management of project budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc.
  • Participates in project meetings with clients and internal departments.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in related field, or applicable experience.
  • 12+ years' experience, including 5+ years' people management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple larger and more complex project teams.
  • Effective leadership skills including ability to motivate, delegate, and build trust.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients and general contractors.
  • Expert negotiation and collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction processes and methods and building codes and permitting.
  • Deep knowledge of risk management principles and demonstrated track record of developing, implementing and managing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledgeable in contract labor compliance and its impact on project structure, sub selection, budgets and implementation.
  • Good background in Small Business Enterprise policies of major clients such as federal agencies and utilities.
  • Good knowledge of standard assumptions and exclusions to mitigate construction project risk.
  • Very strong financial acumen.
  • Confident public speaker, able to relay clear and engaging information.
  • Very strong computer skills, including ERP and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Provides leadership for project teams.
  • Trains and mentors less-experienced positions.
  • Manages direct reports, including performance, coaching, hiring, etc.
  • Fully remote, with a strong preference for candidates based on the East Coast for team alignment.
  • Travel up to 50%.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Maryland this ranges from $165,949.00 - $202,826.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
