Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in planning and executing complex commercial construction projects in Washington. This role focuses on maintaining project schedules and budgets, coordinating submittals and material deliveries, and ensuring work is completed safely, profitably, and to a high standard of quality. The Senior Project Engineer also manages subcontractor compliance with contract documents and helps drive a strong safety and Zero Harm culture on site.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day planning and execution of commercial construction projects in Washington.
  • Maintain assigned portions of the project schedule, ensuring work progresses according to established milestones and deadlines.
  • Manage the full submittal process, including preparation, tracking, review coordination, and approvals.
  • Coordinate the timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted field operations.
  • Monitor and help maintain project budgets, supporting profitability and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee subcontractor compliance with contract documents as delegated by the Project Manager, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
  • Lead and run subcontractor meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and align on upcoming work.
  • Prepare, process, and track change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and alignment with project scope and budget.
  • Manage and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), coordinating with project stakeholders to resolve design and construction questions.
  • Oversee punchlists, ensuring timely completion of outstanding items and closeout activities.
  • Support project documentation and reporting using tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, and MS Project.
  • Contribute to maintaining and promoting a strong Safety/Zero Harm culture on the project site.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to 1–3 junior project engineers, offering guidance, direction, and support as needed.
Essential Skills
  • 2.5 to 4 years of experience working as a Project Engineer in commercial construction with a general contractor.
  • Proven experience delivering large commercial projects with budgets of $5M or greater.
  • Proficiency using Bluebeam for document review and markups.
  • Proficiency using Procore for project management and field coordination.
  • Proficiency using MS Project for schedule development and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience managing change orders, including preparation, review, and approvals.
  • Experience managing submittals from creation through approval and tracking.
  • Experience preparing and managing RFIs and coordinating responses with project stakeholders.
  • Experience running subcontractor meetings and coordinating multiple trade partners.
  • Background in construction project engineering, including estimating, bidding, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing 1–3 junior project engineers.
  • Strong construction management and project management skills, with an emphasis on organization, communication, and problem solving.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/hr.
