PROJECT ENGINEER in RALEIGH NC AREA

NEW OPPORTUNITY for an experienced Project Engineer!  Searching for results-driven, self-motivated, skilled Project Engineer for heavy civil projects in the Raleigh NC Area. A minimum of 3 years of heavy civil project experience is required. Excellent benefits, opportunity for growth, and a chance to work on some cool, large projects in NC! Relevant projects would include HHY, Bridges, Large SIte, projects, and Utilities. 

Project Engineers help manage a project's planning and processes to ensure it is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Duties and responsibilities vary per project and management team.

Project Engineer General  Responsibilities:

  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
  • Draft subcontractor agreements for review, approval and submittal 
  • Oversee subcontractors and quality control and safety requirements
  • Prepare and track RFI’s, Monthly Pay Requests, and Purchase Orders
  • Document Control: internals reports, tracking reports for equipment, time and materials, cost coding
  • Assists in maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Complies all federal and state regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline Preferred
  • 1-3 years of project experience working in the heavy civil construction industry Required
  • EIT Certification a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software such as Primavera (P6) AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Viewpoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external resources
  • Ability to effectively prioritize duties based on project schedules and project needs
  • Ability to self-manage with little or no supervision

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
