Job description

Project Engineer – Contract Opportunity | Liberty, NC | $60–$65/Hour


Reliance One is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting a large-scale manufacturing and new model launch environment in Liberty, North Carolina. This Project Engineer role is ideal for a professional with project management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple teams and organizations.


As a Project Engineer, you will support new model launch activities, project milestones, KPI reporting, construction coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project execution from development through production launch.


Position Details:

• Contract opportunity

• Location: Liberty, NC

• On-site position

• Pay Rate: $60–$65/hour

• Benefits begin Day 1

• Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Occasional travel, weekends, holidays, shutdown periods, and evening meetings may be required based on project needs


Project Engineer Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Purchasing, and other teams to execute project strategies and achieve launch milestones

• Serve as a primary coordination point with internal teams and external partners

• Coordinate new model launch activities across multiple divisions and organizations throughout vehicle development and production phases

• Identify project risks, resolve issues, and lead cross-functional teams in developing solutions and countermeasures

• Define, track, and report project KPIs and milestones using established operation plans

• Lead project reporting, milestone reviews, and project meetings

• Develop standardized processes, documentation, and continuous improvement strategies

• Support construction activities, including building preparation milestones, installation kickoffs, and construction coordination meetings

• Coordinate pre-production trial activities, including trial parts ordering, schedule development, and KPI management

• Support additional cross-functional projects involving budgets, asset management, shutdown activities, and company initiatives

• Manage multiple priorities while working with teams across various functions and locations


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in a project-related role

• Project management experience supporting capital investments greater than $500K

• Experience establishing, managing, visualizing, and reporting KPIs to senior and executive leadership

• Experience creating and maintaining detailed project schedules and milestone tracking

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders


Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% as needed

• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and scheduled shutdown periods based on project requirements

• Ability to support evening meetings with international teams as needed
