Project Engineer Mission Critical Construction (Data Center)


Location: West Texas (Relocation Required)

We are seeking a driven Project Engineer to support the delivery of a ground-up, large-scale data center project in West Texas. This role is ideal for someone early in their construction career who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

This position will require relocation to a remote project site. Candidates should be prepared for a field-based role with limited access to major metropolitan amenities and a strong focus on onsite collaboration.

About the Role

The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting project management, field operations, and project controls on a complex, mission critical build. This environment demands strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across technical scopes and fast-moving schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project controls and document management using platforms such as MS Project, Autodesk (BIM 360), and CMiC

  • Coordinate site activities, including subcontractor logistics, sequencing, and material deliveries

  • Participate in planning and coordination meetings with internal teams and trade partners

  • Assist in identifying and resolving design and construction conflicts in real time

  • Support QA/QC processes, including inspections, testing coordination, and verification tracking

  • Track and process submittals from approval through procurement and installation

  • Support enforcement of jobsite safety standards and protocols

  • Assist in maintaining project schedule and ensuring milestone adherence

  • Review RFIs, drawings, and specifications for technical accuracy and completeness

  • Support change management processes, including pricing and documentation (ASI, PR, CCD, etc.)

  • Help coordinate and document OAC and subcontractor meetings

  • Assist with project closeout, including turnover documentation and as-built drawings

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience supporting mission critical, data center, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex projects

  • Familiarity with construction technology platforms such as CMiC, PlanGrid, BIM 360, Assemble, or similar systems

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to adapt in a highly technical, schedule-driven construction environment

Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to projects with high MEP coordination, commissioning requirements, or critical uptime considerations

  • Prior experience working in field-based roles on large, ground-up builds

Project Location & Travel

  • The project is located in West Texas, about 90 minutes outside of of the MidlandOdessa region
  • MidlandOdessa International Air & Space Port (MAF) serves as the primary airport hub for project travel
  • Relocation, per diem, housing, and travel support are available for qualifying candidates
  • Travel home may be taken every two weeks and will be reimbursed, with up to two flights covered.

  • This is a 25 year, project-based assignment with long-term stability and continuity

  • Combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday

  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate active construction sites

  • Frequent use of hands for computer and document management tasks

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

  • Capable of bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in a construction environment

  • Adequate vision, hearing, and communication ability for both office and field settings
