The Application Engineer (Siphonic System Design) will support the design, layout, and technical execution of custom siphonic roof drainage systems for commercial construction projects. This role works closely with customers, sales representatives, and internal engineering resources to develop system designs, respond to project changes, and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
  • Primary focus: Designing custom hydraulic drainage systems for customers and providing engineering support for the Specification Drainage product line.
  • Review customer architectural, plumbing, and roof drainage plans and integrate drainage systems appropriately
  • Redesign existing systems based on customer feedback, building design changes, and adjusted construction timelines.
  • Communicate directly with customers, sales representatives, contractors, engineers, and internal teams to clarify project requirements, resolve technical questions, and support successful project execution.
  • Coordinate technical activities for assigned projects, including tracking design status, managing revisions, communicating risks, and supporting timelines with sales and engineering stakeholders.
  • Produce Presentations and product demonstrations for sales assistance.
  • Secondary focus: Technical support for the broader Specification Drainage product line as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
  • 2-5 years of related engineering, design, construction, or applications experience
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, (Power Point, Excel, Word, Access)
  • Travel up to 20% may be required for customer meetings, project reviews, jobsite visits, sales support, training, or industry events.

Preferred:
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or Revit
  • Experience with commercial plumbing, drainage, construction drawings, or building systems
  • Familiarity with submittals, project coordination, or technical sales support
  • Self-motivated individual able to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
