Hello,
I’m Simon Mathé, Recruitment Consultant at FED ManuTech, specialized in engineering and technical roles within manufacturing and industrial environments.
I am currently supporting a fast-growing Quebec-based manufacturing company specialized in automation solutions and smart storage systems in the recruitment of a key Mechanical Engineer for its innovation division.

Mission

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will play a central role in the design, development, and industrialization of custom automated mechanical systems built for high-volume and high-complexity environments.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Designing automated machines and mechanical systems, from concept development to production launch
Translating client needs and innovative concepts into reliable, certifiable, and manufacturable solutions
Performing engineering calculations, technical validations, and feasibility analyses
Preparing and validating technical documentation including drawings, reports, specifications, and manufacturing files
Managing development projects including timelines, budgets, suppliers, and external resources
Working closely with automation, design, and production teams
Participating in testing, compliance validation, and cost optimization initiatives
Providing internal technical support and contributing to continuous product improvement
This is a hands-on role with direct involvement in design and manufacturing drawings.

Your profile

Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), authorized to seal engineering documents
Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine design, ideally custom automated systems
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks (design, assemblies, technical drawings)
Strong expertise in:
- Strength of materials
- Welded mechanical design
- GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Finite element analysis (FEA)
Good knowledge of automated systems including servo motors, sensors, conveyors, actuators, and power transmission systems
Comfortable working in a project-based environment within a fast-growing company
Bilingual in French and English
Assets
Experience in industrial automation, logistics, or smart storage solutions
Knowledge of industrial standards and DFM principles
Experience with sheet metal design or industrial/commercial refrigeration
Working Conditions
Permanent full-time onsite position
Competitive base salary around $120,000 depending on experience
