Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer/Coordinator to support the outsourced join our engineering team on a large, dynamic studio campus. This role will report directly to the Chief Building Engineer and provide essential support to the Program/Project Manager, focusing on the planning, execution, and closeout of a wide array of capital improvement projects, infrastructure maintenance initiatives, and operational enhancements across the campus. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities Technical and Engineering Support
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the local team and outsourced Chief Building 
    Engineer on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety) 
    troubleshooting, maintenance programs, and system optimization.
  • Assist in conducting site surveys, condition assessments, and feasibility studies to inform 
    capital planning and maintenance strategies.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Help manage the campus's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) 
    and contribute to data integrity for assets, work orders, and preventative maintenance 
    schedules.
  • Support the development and maintenance of campus-wide standards for materials, 
    equipment, and construction quality. 
Project Support and Coordination 
  • Assist in developing project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans for 
    infrastructure projects, tenant improvements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, 
    vendors, campus operations, and client departments.
  • Contribute to the Request for Proposal (RFP) and bidding process, including contractor 
    selection and contract documentation preparation.
  • Monitor project progress, track expenditures against budget, and maintain 
    comprehensive project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and 
    meeting minutes.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to safety standards, campus policies, local codes, and quality 
    requirements.
  • Facilitate project closeout procedures, including punch lists, commissioning, final 
    documentation turnover (e.g., O&M manuals, as-builts), and warranty tracking. 
Communication and Reporting 
  • Develop and present clear, concise project status reports, financial summaries, and risk 
    analyses to the management team.
  • Act as a key communication liaison between project teams and the Facilities Operations 
    staff to minimize disruption to campus activities.
  • Manage documentation control for all project-related files, drawings, and data.
 
Qualifications 
 
Required 
  • 2-5 years of experience in project coordination, project engineering, or construction 
    management, preferably within a large commercial campus, studio, or corporate 
    environment.
  • Proven understanding of core building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) 
    systems and general construction practices.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Google Suite, Asana, Primavera 
    P6).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills. 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and technical 
    specifications. 
 
Preferred 
  • Experience working in a studio, media, or entertainment industry environment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo, SAP, ServiceChannel).
  • EIT certification, PMP certification, or other relevant professional accreditation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Construction 
    Management) or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes in the Albuquerque area.
