Become an Engineering Manager, Integrated Major Project Development in the Transmission and Substation Project Development organization at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the Integrated Major Project Development leading the Interconnection Customer Project Development team within System Planning & Engineering (SPE) responsible for a team of engineers responsible for generation and large customer/load interconnections at voltages greater than 50 kV, spanningtransmission and subtransmission interconnections, servingexternal customers. You will serve asa central pointof coordination across engineering, planning, project management, grid contracts, environmental, land, protection, telecom, power system controls, construction, and customer-facing organizations. Your leadership will help ensure interconnection projects are developed with clear scope, aligned assumptions, defensible cost and schedule inputs, andtimelyhandoffs to execution team

• Leads a select set of engineering and business initiatives to develop grid strategies, determine how the grid is planned, designed, operated, and maintained to operationalize company's strategy.
• Develops and maintains a project portfolio management system to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and monitor performance.
• Evaluates new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability, designing and implementing improvement projects and new systems to support site initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors to support project delivery and innovation.
• Coaches engineering teams on professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy, technology and safety program to ensure company advancement toward future vision and the well-being of employees and contractors involved in engineering projects.
• Manages the engineering team that provides emergent and routine trouble-shooting support for plant technical needs. Manages various contract engineers and works with those individuals to ensure consistency and quality in design, delivery milestone dates, and cost.
• Leads the design and implementation of new equipment and cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
• Develops goals for engineering team and assigns projects/roles to employees that translate Sr. Manager levels goals into actionable tasks.
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

• Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising engineering work.
• Experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.

• Experience with substation engineering and design including developing scope, cost, and schedule for substation projects
• Knowledge of electric utility transmission,subtransmission, distribution, and substation systems.
• Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with customer interconnection Tariffs, agreements or processes, such as Wholesale Distribution Access Tariff (WDAT) or Transmission Owner Tariff (TOT).
• Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to develop project scope, cost, schedule
• Experience leading technical work, coordinating engineering deliverables, or managing engineers or technical teams.

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

• The primary work location for this position is Pomona, CA (PIV1). However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
• Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
• This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
