Overview

Colliers Project Leaders is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in the Boston, MA area!


In this role, the right candidate will be responsible for supporting our operations team and developing new business opportunities to support our regional offices. Represents the firm in initial outreach, reconnaissance, needs assessments, scheduling, strategy, messaging, presentations and follow thru as a qualified liaison for potential public, private, and governmental clients. 


Responsibilities
  • Represents Colliers Project Leaders (CPL), a Division of Colliers Engineering and Design (CED), services to clients to support the growth of business for the Company.
  • Develop a business plan to target new clients and expand our reach within our existing clients to support the growth of the geographic region you support.
  • Key Service Lines include: Owners Project Management (OPM) and Commissioning (Cx)
  • Key Sectors include: Education (higher education and K-12, both public and private), Healthcare, Commercial, and Municipal/Governmental
  • Key Geographies include: Boston Metro, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont
  • Research new clients, via networking, internet, documents, and interviews. Uses company “lead” services and other generally available means to conduct research and support forecasting upcoming business opportunities, as well as pre-positioning and partnering on specific opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain existing client relationships the employee has established and update the Client Relationship Management system accordingly.
  • Facilitate client presentations (i.e., answer questions, provide supporting documents, schedules follow-up meetings).
  • Follow up employee led BD activities resulting from presentations between clients, CPL staff and partnering companies.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and partnering companies concerning problems or concerns.
  • Work as a team with in-house staff concerned with new business, including support of staff pursuing work. This includes coordination and support of marketing for proposal related activities.
  • As requested, assist and support leadership with various activities to support growth including strategic planning and marketing related functions review and improvement. (ie website, social media, etc.)
  • Lead client outreach and coordinate with our appropriate subject matter experts.
  • Manage communications with all parties involved with employee led presentations.
  • Develop positive relationships with new clients.
  • Communicate well with a wide range of occupational levels.
  • Represent the firm in a professional, upstanding manner.
  • Always keeps company image and marketing efforts in forefront. Support the Marketing team as required to enhance and improve company related marketing, messaging, social media and website presence.
  • Develops contact information for new client and utilize Unanet (CRM tool) to track contact information and related sales activities.
  • Attend trade shows, political and social activities as needed and when required.
  • Coordinate seminars to help brand CPL professionals as experts within the industry.
  • Plan networking receptions at industry conferences when appropriate budgeting permits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related degree
  • 5+ years of related business development experience
  • Strong knowledge of various construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as building codes, contract law and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the client relations, design, construction, and FF&E process.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage various tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Enthusiasm to promote and drive implementation of projects.
  • Professionally recognized designations are considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $160,000 - $220,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
