Hill International is seeking a Business Development Manager in Seattle, Washington
This opening requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about business development, including assisting in the identification and pursuit of business opportunities, establishing positive client relationships through effective client meetings and networking, developing & maintaining competitor knowledge, developing win strategies for targeted opportunities, leading proposal and interview preparation, helping identify strategic hires, and maintaining ongoing client relationships. The focus will be agency construction management and owner's representative services in both the public and private sectors for both buildings and infrastructure markets.
Responsibilities
Identifying & Pursuing Opportunities:
  • Understand Hill's target markets, resources and services
    Identify business opportunities in targeted markets consistent with our business strategy
  • Assist in developing client and opportunity strategies
    Work with the team to position for targeted pursuits

Establishing Positive Client Relationships:
  • Ability to continue the growth of client base, teaming partners and overall office network
  • Identify and effectively participate in industry networking opportunities
    Contacting potential clients to establish rapport
  • Arrange client meetings
  • Identify key issues important to clients
  • Document client meetings using Hill templates
  • Experience with client interface through attendance at conferences, meetings, and industry events

Competitor Knowledge:
  • Strong research skills identifying competitive analysis, public documents, and market research for private clients
  • Partner with business development team to develop pursuit plans and needed marketing material
  • Understand strengths and weaknesses of competitors
  • Inform win strategy development based on competitive intelligence

Developing Win Strategies:
  • Experience developing firm qualifications and proposal packages
  • Understand client procurement processes and identification of decision makers will be
  • Partner with team to develop clear understanding of client decision drivers
  • Work as part of the team and assist in leading the development of win strategies focused on the best approach to deliver client value
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives

Qualifications
  • BA or BS, preferably in Communication, Business, Architecture, Planning or Construction Management
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing or Business Development role for a professional services firm, preferably with specific Construction Management experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Established industry network of client and AEC contacts
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Motivated, results-driven individual passionate about fostering good client relationships and promoting positive work relationships within our organization
  • Bring familiarity with local market, clients and competitors
  • Travel as needed
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required, Adobe InDesign a plus

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
