 Location: Timken, Rutherfordton, NC.

 Job Type: Full Time

 Shift: Day Shift

 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM  with overtime as needed

Position Summary:

The Scheduling Coordinator supports on-time production and shipping by creating and maintaining daily and weekly schedules, communicating schedule changes to the shop floor and support teams, and tracking order progress. This hands-on role requires close coordination with production and material teams, and practical problem-solving to keep operations running smoothly.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and maintain daily and weekly production schedules in the site ERP/MRP system (SAP) to meet production and shipping targets.
  • Release production work orders and ensure correct routing, prints, and bill of materials are available for operations.
  • Communicate schedule changes and priority work to operations, material handlers, and shipping/receiving teams.
  • Monitor order status, material availability, and inventory levels; identify shortages and coordinate with planners/purchasing to resolve issues.
  • Track and expedite priority/expedite orders and prepare shipping/production notices for affected teams.
  • Participate in daily production stand-ups and shift handovers to ensure continuity and clarity between shifts.
  • Record schedule changes, maintain accurate logs, and complete required data entry for shift reports and KPIs.
  • Support load leveling across shifts by adjusting schedules and coordinating crew assignments where applicable.
  • Escalate production or material constraints to supervision promptly and assist in implementing short-term workarounds.
  • Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while working on or near the shop floor.
  • Assist with continuous improvement suggestions related to scheduling and operations.
  • Work on special assignments and projects as deemed needed by Plant Leadership to improve the business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing, production support, scheduling, or shipping? 
  • Basic experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP).
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with production teams on the shop floor.
  • Strong written communication skills; capable of giving concise and clear updates internally and externally.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to solve problems independently related to role.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous hourly scheduling or production coordinator experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts (5S, continuous improvement).
  • Previous experience leading meetings or team reviews.
