Job description

ABM Technical Solutions is seeking a Project Manager within our PMO (Project Management Office) for our IS (Infrastructure Solutions) Group. The Project Manager is responsible for overall Project Management of IS, BES, ESCO type commercial projects which may include, Lighting, Building Envelop, Roofing, Solar, Field Replacements, HVAC/mechanical system installation, equipment repair, retrofits & replacements, commissioning & re-commissioning, control upgrades, energy audits, and chillers & plant equipment. The Project Manager will work independently to lead the planning, scheduling, control, and effective coordination of all parallel activities related to the management of multiple projects of moderate to high complexity from concept through close-out.

The Project Manager leads the execution of complex Infrastructure Solutions and Energy projects ranging from $5M-$20M plus ensuring alignment to scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements. This role serves as the primary point-of-contact for clients and subcontractors and is responsible for full lifecycle management from project initiation through commissioning and closeout.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architectural, Construction Management, or similar industry and/or combination of degree and 7-10 years of industry specificwork experience.
  • Minimum 5 plus years of Infrastructure Solutions, Building Energy Solutions, ESCO, large commercial HVAC, Mechanical, and Electrical project management experience.
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA).
  • Experience managing large projects with multiple subcontractors in various industry disciplines.
  • Experience in preparing purchase orders and sub-contractor agreements.
  • Experience in customer, sub-contractor, and vendor invoicing.
  • Experience working with forecasting and utilizing forecasting platforms.
  • Experience creating and updating project schedules.
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar mechanical/HVAC/electrical projects.
  • Experiencemanaging multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in project close out steps and O&Ms.
  • Must have extensive managerial and technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, procedures and standards.
  • Well organized with strong planning.
  • Quality control and safety oriented.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Position requires a valid driver's license, as travel to project sites is required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Procore understanding preferred.

  • Ensure that IS and HVAC / Energy projects are completed on time in accordance with established agreements, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate monthly and weekly financial forecasts, budget management, cost control, profit and loss responsibility, and risk and contingency management.
  • Responsible for managing contract scope, identifying and addressing scope gaps, overseeing contract compliance, and ensuring all contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain complete project documentation, including reports, logs, meeting minutes, submittal records, and closeout materials.
  • Oversee subcontractor and vendor performance, ensuring work is delivered according to scope, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules, ensuring all activities align with critical path timelines and project milestones.
  • Ensure SOPs are utilized to ensure projects are managed properly.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management Lead, Finance, Sales, Development, and Contract Management layers to provide weekly and monthly updates.
  • Review and approve contractor bids, RFI's, submittals,and change requests.
  • Inspect or direct the inspection of work to ensure conformance to specifications, schedules, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure contractors receive site orientation and training and that all state/local code requirements and building permits, inspection and project close-out processes are followed.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction through effective communication of both technical and non-technical topics with all levels of organization both verbally and in writing.
  • Exhibit project leadership, and effective decision making throughout each project and consistently deliver projects that meet all stakeholder requirements and are fully commissioned, qualified and ready for start-up/occupancy.
  • Ensure all safety regulations are closely adhered to; completes related documentation as required.
  • Manage a portfolio of large and complex IS, BES, HVAC and/or electrical projects up to $20,000,000 or more annually.
