Job description

We are seeking an IT Project Coordinator/Manager to lead and oversee Business Continuity Planning (BCP) related projects for a financial services client. This is a contract position based in New York City, with a duration of 12 months or more. You will coordinate cross-functional efforts, manage project timelines, and ensure the delivery of enterprise software solutions that align with business objectives through strategic planning, effective communication, and meticulous execution.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate release management activities including deployment planning, disaster recovery procedures, and post-implementation reviews for enterprise software solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end project management activities, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation using tools such such as Microsoft Project, Visio, and SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements, develop comprehensive project scopes, and define success criteria aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage project tasks and schedules using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Oversee the development and execution of test cases, user acceptance testing (UAT), and test-driven development processes to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Facilitate communication across teams by maintaining clear documentation of project status updates, meeting notes, and change requests using tools such as Jira, VersionOne, or TFS.
Qualifications
  • Required
    • 4+ years of experience in Business Continuity Planning.
    • 4+ years of experience in Business Impact Analysis.
    • 7+ years of experience in Project Management.
    • Proven experience managing IT projects within enterprise environments utilizing methodologies such as Agile, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), or Waterfall.
    • Strong knowledge of IT, BCP, and Disaster Recovery.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Excel.
    • Solid understanding of SDLC processes, IT governance principles, requirements gathering techniques, and release management strategies.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills; capable of conducting impact analysis and developing innovative solutions.
    • Exceptional communication skills to facilitate collaboration among technical teams and business stakeholders at all levels.
    • Leadership qualities with experience in program management or leading cross-functional teams through complex project phases.
  • Preferred
    • 2+ years of experience with banking projects.
    • Knowledge of IT Disaster Recovery Plans, user acceptance testing procedures, and version control practices.
