Construction Advisor


Trillium Advisory Group is seeking an experienced, client-facing construction professional to help project teams plan, visualize, and execute work more effectively through Advanced Work Packaging, model-based planning, 4D schedule simulation, visual production tracking, and practical project controls expertise.


The Opportunity

This role combines deep construction execution experience, project controls knowledge, and visual planning technologies to help client teams improve how work is planned, coordinated, and executed. The role has a strong focus on visual planning support, including 3D model-based planning, 4D schedule simulation, Advanced Work Packaging, and visual production tracking.


The ideal candidate understands how construction projects actually get built. Tools and technology can be taught; meaningful on-site construction experience is essential.


Position Details

  • Location: Calgary, AB / Remote
  • Travel: Project dependent; typically targeted at no more than one week per month
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends as project needs require

What You Will Do

Construction Planning & Visual Project Delivery

  • Support client teams in implementing Advanced Work Packaging processes and practical execution planning practices.
  • Develop and support model-based planning solutions that improve construction visibility, sequencing, and execution readiness.
  • Create and maintain 4D schedule simulations to communicate construction strategy and project sequencing.
  • Facilitate visual planning sessions with project stakeholders, including construction, engineering, project controls, and leadership teams.
  • Support visual production tracking initiatives that improve field execution, readiness, and progress visibility.
  • Help client teams identify constraints, sequencing risks, and opportunities to improve workface readiness.


Advisory & Client Consulting

  • Work directly with client teams to assess project challenges and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, stakeholder interviews, and client working sessions.
  • Develop practical recommendations and implementation strategies for project delivery and process improvement initiatives.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project insights to project leaders and client stakeholders.
  • Support development and deployment of project processes, procedures, governance frameworks, and implementation plans.


Analytics & Performance Improvement

  • Analyze project performance data and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools that support project decision-making where appropriate.
  • Conduct project audits, health assessments, productivity reviews, and performance analyses.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables that translate complex information into clear recommendations.


What We Are Looking For

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of construction project execution experience; exceptional intermediate candidates will be considered. Project Controls experience is preferred.
  • Significant experience on active construction projects and project sites.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, work packaging, field execution, and project delivery best practices. Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D model-based planning. 4D planning and schedule simulation, visual production tracking is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working with stakeholders across field execution, engineering, construction management, and project controls teams.
  • Ability to engage confidently with clients, project teams, and leadership stakeholders.

You are comfortable engaging with superintendents, planners, project controls professionals, construction managers, and senior project leaders. You enjoy solving complex project challenges and are motivated by helping teams plan and execute work more effectively.


You may already have experience with AWP, project controls, model-based planning, or 4D simulation. More importantly, you bring practical project execution judgment, curiosity, and the ability to learn new tools and methods quickly.
