What Is The Opportunity?

Aecon is gearing up for new and upcoming civil projects in Calgary, and we're expanding our team. If you're passionate about building the infrastructure that keeps communities moving, growing, and thriving, this is your chance to join one of Canada's leading construction and infrastructure development companies.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Develop and maintain project job costs, forecasting, revenue, and cash flows.
  • Maintain project level cost and budget utilizing company provided software including identification of cost adjustments, quantities, forecast cost to complete, and budget revisions.
  • Support subcontractor and service agreement payments.
  • Develop and facilitate payment applications to the client.
  • Investigate problems and/or reported incidents; identify and recommend solutions/alternatives as appropriate.
  • Assemble cost and schedule proposals for change order work.
  • Prepare and coordinate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in project decisions regarding cost and scheduling.
  • Provide additional support to Scheduler when needed on an ad hoc basis.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Project Management Team. 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • 2-4 years of civil construction experience
  • College and/or University degree in related field, OR applicable work experience
  • Applied knowledge of the "Earned Value" principles.
  • Applied knowledge of Project Management and Project Controls principles, including experience with concepts of PMBOK.
  • Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control.
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.
  • Detail oriented and customer focused.
