Reporting to the Assistant Director, Project Controls, the Change Management Specialist serves as the central point of coordination for the Windfall Project change management process, covering both trends and changes across the four project areas: Processing Plant, Underground Mine, Tailings and Stockpiling Area, and Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI). The incumbent maintains the owner's Trend Notice (PTN) and Project Change Notice (PCN) registers, ensures alignment with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) issued by the ePCM and ESPs, and supports the integration of cost, schedule and risk impacts into project controls systems, including Contruent and Primavera P6 EPPM. The position also contributes to the preparation of weekly and monthly project reports. Will work a 5-2 schedule at the Montreal office. 


Duties and responsibilities

Coordinate the owner's change management process, including PTNs and PCNs, from initial identification through to closure, in accordance with the Windfall Project change management procedure;
Collect and consolidate inputs from the project areas, including the Processing Plant, Underground Mine, Tailings Area and NPI, as well as from the ePCM, ESPs and construction contractors;
Maintain the Project Trend Register and Change Register in Contruent, ensuring proper numbering, traceability and document filing in Aconex and SharePoint;
Prepare PTN and PCN files, including justification, impact assessment, alternatives and AACE estimate class, and route approvals in accordance with Gold Fields' Delegation of Authority matrix;
Follow up on the implementation of approved changes, including CAPEX baseline updates, and confirm PCN closure with the relevant stakeholders;
Work closely with discipline leads in Cost Control, Planning, Estimating and Risk Management to quantify the cost and schedule impacts of each trend and change;
Support the proactive identification of trends and potential deviations, such as price escalation, productivity issues and interface risks, before they affect the baseline;
Reconcile change registers with the authorized budget in Contruent, the project schedule in Primavera P6 EPPM and commitments in SAP;
Participate in variance analysis, assessment of cumulative impacts on the Forecast at Completion (FAC), and probabilistic weighting of outstanding PTNs and PCNs;
Work with the Contracts team to monitor changes issued under construction contracts and support the processing of contractor and supplier claims;
Document and analyze Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and contractual disputes in coordination with Area Managers;
Ensure end-to-end traceability of changes, from PTN to PCN to contractual instrument, and maintain compliance with auditability requirements;
Support Package Managers and the ePCM in preparing justification files, recommendations for award (RTA) and Change Review Committee notes;
Contribute to the preparation of weekly and monthly project reports, including dashboards for the Project Director, the Change Review Committee (CRM) and Gold Fields' ExCo;
Incorporate key change and trend indicators, including number, value, status, contingency exposure and FAC, into reports and presentations;
Ensure the quality, consistency and clarity of data provided by the owner, ePCM, ESPs and construction contractors;
Identify critical issues, required escalations and mitigation recommendations related to changes and emerging risks;
Perform any other related duties that contribute to the successful delivery of the project.


Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management or a related field.
Five to eight years of experience in project controls for large-scale industrial projects, ideally in mining, EPC/EPCM, energy or infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience in trend and change management, including PTN/PCN processes, cost and schedule impact assessment, and register administration.
Good understanding of the ePCM delivery model, owner/engineering/construction interfaces and related contractual instruments.
Fluency in spoken and written French and English;
Knowledge of Contruent, SAP and Aconex is considered an asset.
