What is the Opportunity?

We are currently looking for a bilingual Director - Project Controls responsible for the development, governance, and execution of all tools, systems, and processes required to effectively manage project costs, schedules, risks, and overall performance.
He/She leads, mentors, evaluates, and supports a team of project controls specialists and acts as a strategic partner to Project Management leadership. 

What You'll Do Here:

  • Developing, implementing, and governing the Project Controls Plan (PCP) as part of the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Developing the cost structure, master schedule, and baseline estimate, including baseline curves (cost, schedule, and risk).
  • Leading, coordinating, evaluating, and supporting a team of Project Controls specialists (cost, scheduling, risk, and reporting).
  • Overseeing variance analysis between actual costs/schedules and the baseline; clearly communicating the root causes of variances and recommending mitigation plans.
  • Overseeing the definition, optimization, and implementation of WBS / CBS / RBS, ensuring alignment with contractual deliverables.
  • Ensuring planning, cost control, progress measurement (installed quantities / Earned Value), performance indicator production, and field data collection.
  • Managing and tracking all changes and potential changes; ensuring full visibility of cost and schedule impacts to the client and Project Management leadership.
  • Leading risk management, including identification, qualitative and quantitative analyses, risk registers, periodic reviews, and integration into forecasting.
  • Producing performance reports (weekly, monthly, executive) and ensuring data quality in Primavera, SAP, Enight, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Contributing to overall project performance by combining technical expertise, leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You Bring to the Table: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of total experience, including at least 7 years in Project Controls on large-scale projects (heavy civil, infrastructure, industrial).
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supervising large Project Controls teams.
  • Bilingual (French and English) with daily communication with internal and external teams across Canada.
  • Strong proficiency in Project Controls tools, including: Primavera P6 (mandatory), SAP, Ineight, advanced Excel, Power BI.
  • Experience across all project phases: engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Proven ability to work closely with project teams to influence and achieve expected outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and communication skills, particularly in the context of major capital projects.
