Job description

Purpose Provide technical and non-technical support as part of the project execution team in support of internal and external deliverables for all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Project Controls processes and procedures.
  • Consolidate, organize, and integrate various cost and schedule data sources to align with approved WBS/Control Account levels.
  • Support Project Managers with estimate creation.
  • Create quantity take-offs and unit rate tables for use in cost estimates.
  • Support Project Managers with documentation/version control.
  • Ensure all changes to cost and/or schedule baselines are DOA approved prior to execution.
  • Lead management of change workflow execution and status reporting.
  • Review, validate, and incorporate external supplier/contractor cost reports into incurred cost and earned value calculations.
  • Assist with preparation of timely and accurate detailed cost reports based on input/coordination with the Project Team.
  • Provide data to support significant cost irregularities/trends and suggest corrective actions.
  • Assist with ETC validation by reviewing project schedules and verifying relationships to cost forecasts.
  • Prepare and issue detailed cost reports based on input/coordination with the Project Team.
  • Creation, assignment, and maintenance of schedule EPS, WBS, Activity Calendars, Activity Codes, Global Changes, and Resources.
  • Obtain Project Team buy-in/approval of all documented schedule assumptions and baselines .
  • Provide timely and accurate schedule updates based on input/coordination with the Project Team.
  • Review, validate, and incorporate external supplier/contractor schedules into the Master Integrated Schedule.
  • Validate schedule forecast accuracy, productivity, and produce variance analysis documentation.
  • Head planning workshops to define project schedule activity scope, relationships, and dependencies.
  • Provide all necessary inputs for and actively participate in risk assessment workshops.
  • Develop and maintain progress measurement reporting integrated with schedule.
  • Prepare and issue Project reports to meet contractual obligations.
  • Identify and assess significant cost/schedule irregularities/trends and suggest corrective actions.
  • Develop reporting structure and process to share project information with stakeholders.
  • Ensure cost, schedule, and progress reporting accuracy, and convey business analysis to stakeholders.
  • Ensure project controls reporting documents are produced and that they clearly reflect the schedule and timeline status, cost or budget considerations, changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels.
  • Assess supplier/contractor's performance and suggest corrective actions, if required.
  • Lead a team of Project Controls Specialists, Planner/Schedulers, and Document Controllers on a specific project or program.
  • Promote fluid, open, and consistent communication amongst all Project Team members.
  • Strive for continuous improvement across all areas of work.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Seven or more (7+) years of experience in project controls, project accounting, cost engineering, or scheduling roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of project control functions and project accounting processes, ERP systems and tools such as MS Dynamics 365, MS Project, Primavera P6 Professional, and Power BI.
  • Experience with Omega 365 Pims preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills - written and verbal.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong relationship capabilities.
  • High levels of creativity, persistence, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
  • The candidate should be a self-starter, possess strong analytical skills, and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
