Position Overview

The Project Controls Manager role is an opportunity to lead project controls on large, complex industrial projects within Kiewit Industrial's growing Advanced Technology market. The Project Controls Manager will partner closely with project and district leadership to drive forecasting, reporting, and performance visibility while building and leading high-performing project controls teams. This position is ideal for a leader who brings strong operational judgment, experience with integrated project controls systems such as InEight, and a passion for developing teams in a fast-paced execution environment.

This position may be based in a district or area office or on a project site, depending on business needs. Candidates must be willing to travel and relocate as required to support project assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop project controls teams supporting large, advanced technology and industrial projects, including cost, scheduling, and progress functions.
  • Partner with project leadership to improve forecasting, reporting, and performance visibility and support timely, data-driven decisions.
  • Build a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, development, collaboration, and consistent execution.
  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of project controls systems, including InEight, Primavera P6, and related reporting processes.
  • Integrate budget, quantities, installed progress, labor hours, productivity, cost, and schedule data to support accurate forecasting and performance measurement.
  • Provide timely weekly and monthly reporting, including executive summaries, dashboards, trend analysis, and risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Analyze performance against baseline plans and proactively identify risks, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Support change management by evaluating cost and schedule impacts and communicating trends clearly to project leadership.
  • Lead schedule review efforts, including critical path analysis, forecasting, recovery planning, and progress validation.
  • Drive data quality, reporting accuracy, and compliance with Kiewit project controls standards.
  • Partner across estimating, engineering, procurement, construction, and business management to support transition from estimate to execution.
  • Help standardize tools, processes, and reporting expectations across larger teams to improve consistency and scalability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, finance, business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Progressive project controls experience supporting large industrial or EPC projects, preferably within advanced technology, manufacturing, mission-critical, or similarly complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing larger project controls teams across cost, scheduling, progress, and reporting functions.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated project controls systems and processes, with preferred experience in InEight or similar integrated project controls platforms, Primavera P6, and executive reporting tools.
  • Experience with forecasting, earned value, change management, productivity analysis, trend management, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to partner effectively with operations, engineering, procurement, construction, and business management teams to support execution and decision-making.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to build alignment and drive accountability across larger teams.
  • Experience mentoring project controls professionals and standardizing processes across multiple scopes, teams, or project phases is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, and other data-driven reporting tools is preferred.
  • Advanced technology, industrial, or mission-critical construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, and effective in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook). #LI-KS23

Base Compensation: $125,000/yr - $150,000/yr
