Position Overview

The Project Controls Manager is responsible for managing and leading the analytics plus insights for data driven decision making which is provided to project management teams. Duties include collaborating with engineering manager, project manager and clients throughout the life cycle of their projects; ensuring Kiewit's internal project control software (InEight), P6 and auto reporting are set up correctly and maintained; weekly review of automated reporting to ensure accurate data; review of automated monthly reporting; and providing insights to enhance Kiewit's tools and reporting.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force.  Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America.

Location

The position is based out of Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities

    Collaborate with operations management to build relationships and establish effective controls 
    Perform analysis of auto reporting to pinpoint areas of improvement and make data-driven recommendations  
    Articulate and summarize information and results to management 
    Accountable for budgeted, actual and forecasted take-off quantities, manhours and dollars 
    Accountable for the preparation and completion of internal audits 
    Provide leadership and coaching to the project controls team 
    Represent Kiewit Project Controls in internal and external meetings - trainings, presentations to engineering partners, overviews to potential clients, etc. 
    Coordination with Estimating and Business Management to support transition from proposal to execution 
    Show understanding of P6 and have the ability to become a super-user of Kiewit's project controls software (InEight) 
    Identify and understand key components in project contracts that impact project controls processes 

Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field 
    Minimum 8 years of experience in the business consulting, engineering, or construction industry 
    Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation communications skills 
    Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive 
    Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities and experience speaking in public, to groups, or via electronic media 
    Ability to think strategically while identifying problems and developing creative solutions 
    Candidates must also be able and willing to do minimal travel for business needs.
