We are seeking aSenior Control Systems Engineerto join our Technology & Information Services (TIS) team in Edmonton, Alberta. You will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of our process control systems on Enbridge's Liquids Pipeline (LP) system. What You Will Do:

  • Design, review, implement, and maintain process control systems for the liquids pipeline system, including configuration, programming, and commissioning of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).

  • Lead technical aspects of capital projects related to process control and associated data communication systems, providing engineering services to these projects.

  • Provide technical support and on-call coverage for installed control systems, implementing solutions to operational issues, resolving problem reports, and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation of approximately 1 week of every 8 weeks.

  • Lead failure analyses and investigations, and drive development of updated Enbridge process control standards, specifications, practices, and procedures.

  • Identify and deliver control system improvement opportunities through projects and operations support including development of business case, implementation strategies, budget estimates, and lessons learned analyses.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering focused on Process Control, Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • 6+ years of growing responsibility in control system design and implementation. Experience includes developing and applying process control strategies for process industries.

  • Registered member with APEGA as P. Eng. in the Province of Alberta.

  • Deep knowledge of PLC hardware/programming, HMIs, control system communications, and related programmable devices - from design through implementation.

  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, with preference for pipeline experience; knowledge of power, instrumentation, pipeline hydraulics, IT, Networks, OT Cybersecurity, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.

  • Moderate travel (<20%) to regional offices, equipment installation locations, or construction sites along the Liquids Pipeline system is required. Ability to travel and work on projects throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.

  • A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire.

  • Participation in Operations support on-call rotation to provide support of local control systems, including approximately 1 week of 24/7 on-call support every 8 weeks.

  • Occasional work-generated disruptions to off-the-job personal activities, including extended working hours and after-hours troubleshooting calls (approximately twice per month).
