AltaGas - Jr. Project Control Analyst
AltaGas is seeking a Junior Project Controls Analyst to join our Midstream Project Team who will report to the Team Lead, Project Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the project team in the development and control of project schedules, budgets, and resources. As a Junior Project Controls Analyst, you will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
You will:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans established project baselines/timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues or risks, and work with the project team to mitigate those risks.
  • Aid in the preparation of project status reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with project managers to identify and resolve project-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations, to gather and analyze project data.
  • Work with external vendors on getting timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support project setup processes within the accounting system.
  • Create monthly accruals for projects
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
  • Ensures project teams are supported from a project controls perspective, including development, updating, and controlling project plans, budgets, schedules, and reporting in conformance with project requirements, and establish baseline documents to provide on-going project monitoring.
  • Support the development of the Project Risk Register. Identify potential issues and support the development of risk mitigation plans.


You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field required
  • 0-2 Years relevant experience in the midstream/energy industry required
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and team building skills Ability to work both individually and within a team environment.

  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
