 **This position is contingent upon contract award**. 


Evans is seeking a STEM Outreach Control Specialist to join one of their growing contracts supporting the U.S. Airforce. We are seeking to lead the coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of multiple outreach programs that connect students, educators, and volunteers with hands-on STEM experience. This role requires strong program management, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver high-quality STEM programming statewide.


Location details: This role is on-site 5 days/week in the Greater Dayton Ohio area up to 35 miles from Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio state.

Manage and oversee all aspects of the Scanning Electron Microscope Educators (SEMEDS) program, including planning and execution of bi-monthly after-school sessions.

Coordinate and execute semi-annual WPAFB Job Shadow Days for high school students.

Serve as the organization's webmaster, developing and maintaining web-based resources and content for STEM outreach initiatives.

Manage and update STEM outreach social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter/X).

Support administration of the Ohio FIRST LEGO League in partnership with program leadership.

Coordinate volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and participation for science fairs across Miami Valley schools.

Manage the Classroom Speakers Program, matching educators with STEM professionals for classroom presentations and career days.

Work cross-functionally with educators, volunteers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless program delivery.

Track program performance and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.


Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field plus 5 years of project management experience and 1 year of STEM outreach experience or 5 years of project management experience plus 5 years of STEM outreach experience. 

2 years of website management experience is required. 

Frequent travel is required in the Greater Dayton Ohio area.

Experience managing large-scale programs or statewide initiatives.

Experience planning and executing multi-day events, tournaments, or conferences.

Strong coordination skills in coordinating logistics such as venues, vendors, catering, and event operations.

Expertise in managing social media or communications for programs or organizations,

Experience with outreach, community engagement, or STEM education initiatives.

Compensation

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $63,000 to $66,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans's total compensation package for employees.
