Job Summary

Landis + Gyr is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Project Manager. Candidates must have a solid understanding of all stages of the project cycle and have demonstratable experience executing multiple projects within a Stage-Gate & Agile methodology to ensure that all deliverables are completed and approved by project stakeholders.   


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
   Plan, execute, control, and coordinate the activities of a project core team to produce deliverables agreed upon with executive and/or functional management. 
   Utilize the PMO's New Product Introduction (NPI) procedures and processes to develop new products and/or services for L+G. 
   Work within Stage-Gate methodology. 
   Scrum management and metric analysis for Agile projects.
   Working with cross functional teams across the globe to ensure products are launched on time and within budget
   Manage the project(s) and execute activities around the boundaries of scope, schedule, risks, and cost. 
   Report project status to the PMO and other stakeholders. 
   Manage external, internal, and capital project costs. 
   Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.

Education and Experience:
   Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field.  
   2 years of experience in Project Management leading software product development. 
   Experience in the utility, telecommunications or similarly regulated industries is a plus. 
   Understanding Stage-Gate & Agile methodology.


Preferred Qualifications:
   Excellent understanding of project management scheduling SW tools (Microsoft Project, etc.) 
   Strong negotiating skills for working with stakeholders. 
   Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%) to support project activities. International travel is likely. 
   Experience managing remote teams in different time zones.
   Proven leadership qualities showing the ability to make decisions without perfect information. 
   Ability to positively influence others without direct authority in efforts to move assigned projects forward.
   Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, & listening). Understand how to measure audience and craft communications to meet their needs. Use listening skills to completely understand tough situations and help resolve them. 
   Strong ability to resolve conflicts between members of the project team or as needed throughout the organization. 
   Excellent organizational abilities needed as multiple projects will be assigned. 
   Excellent change management skills. Ability to accept change and respond to setbacks with minimal disruptions. 
   Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall & Agile).


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: 
   Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor.  Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc. 

   Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English. Pay is in the range of $83,500 - $100,600 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
