About the Position

As an Associate Project Manager for our Transportation Projects business unit, you will support the successful execution of transportation and packaging projects, ensuring contractual obligations are met safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position involves managing smaller, less complex projects while developing skills and experience necessary to assume increasingly complex project responsibilities under the supervision of the Director of Transportation Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the implementation of limited scope project requirements and activities.
  • Assist in the development and writing of highly technical sales and marketing proposals for domestic and international commercial customers, the U.S. Government, and international government agencies.
  • Coordinate project resources to ensure project requirements are met within budget and schedule.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all external project communication with the customer.
  • Prepare and distribute project control documents, including schedules, costs, and contractual status reports to NAC management.
  • Monitor and report progress on projected budgets and integrate technical and support functions for contract completion.
  • Prepare proposals for out-of-scope work, as requested by the customer.
  • Support packaging operations, qualify as a packaging operator, and work in customer facilities to meet project needs.
  • Participate in the evaluation and development of new product ideas and business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project or operations management, engineering or related experience.
  • Project controls and systems knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time to accomplish assigned work.
  • Must meet the requirements for unescorted access at commercial nuclear power stations.
  • Must meet the requirements to obtain a U.S. National Security Clearance (L or Q).

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

  • Prior experience with radioactive material packaging & transportation, cask design and/or spent fuel transport/storage industry preferred.
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and radioactive material transportation regulations in the U.S. and internationally.
