About the Role
We are looking for an Analytical Services Team Leader to join our team in Flagstaff, Arizona. This team leader is responsible for strategic alignment and project execution for the Analytical Services Team. In this role, you will lead a team of scientists and technicians in providing essential testing, imaging, and consultation services (including raw materials testing, microbiological testing, chemical testing, particulate analysis, test method development/validation, chemical characterization, and microscopy services) in support of manufacturing, new product development, and research. This leader is responsible for meeting customer needs, maintaining compliance with applicable standards and regulations, ensuring Associate performance and development, and aligning laboratory capabilities, investments, and priorities with business needs and constraints.
This position will be located at one of our facilities in Flagstaff, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
  • Lead by providing clarity on business direction, supporting associate development, maintaining high performing teams, and championing the principles of the Gore culture
  • Manage team resourcing, capacity, and capabilities to deliver accurate and timely analytical support to internal customers
  • Support audit activities and ensure laboratory compliance to standards and quality system requirements
  • Plan and execute projects while maintaining project management discipline and communication with stakeholders
  • Develop/maintain key lab metrics and participate in trend reviews
  • Drive multiyear forecasts and hiring plans, and maintain investments to forecast
  • Ensure appropriate partnering between the Analytical Services Team and functional experts to cultivate deep technical knowledge and to provide practical, scientific support to customers
  • Partner with Procurement to engage external partners for work in excess of capacity
  • Develop technical Associates, lead performance reviews, address interpersonal conflicts/performance issues, and hold Associates accountable to internal requirements
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience within a laboratory setting
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience with leading an engaged and productive team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects to completion
  • Experience setting, monitoring, and managing team performance metrics
  • Experience effectively responding to customer requests and communicating to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Associate engagement, instill trust, and build strong followership
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in biological testing, analytical testing and/or microscopy in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory standards and good laboratory practices
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution, appropriate communication, influencing and gaining buy-in

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
