Job Summary

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architectural Associate to join its growing architectural team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced architectural professional who excels in developing high-quality construction documentation and supporting projects through the technical design and documentation phases.

The Architectural Associate will play a critical role in transforming conceptual architectural designs into precise, accurate, and coordinated construction documents. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and capable of working efficiently under tight project deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

This position is best suited for candidates with strong commercial office and multi-story building experience who possess a thorough understanding of construction methods, building systems, materials, and applicable building codes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that meet both design intent and construction requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive architectural construction documents based on conceptual and schematic designs.

  • Translate complex architectural concepts into accurate, coordinated, and buildable construction drawings.

  • Prepare detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and architectural details.

  • Assist project architects and project managers throughout all phases of project documentation.

  • Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil engineering consultants.

  • Ensure construction documents comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements.

  • Review drawings for quality, consistency, constructability, and coordination before project submission.

  • Participate in design coordination meetings with internal teams and external consultants.

  • Assist with revisions resulting from client feedback, permit reviews, and consultant coordination.

  • Maintain project documentation standards and quality assurance procedures.

  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project schedules and deadlines.

  • Research building materials, construction assemblies, and technical detailing solutions.

  • Assist during permitting and construction administration by responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and reviewing submittals when necessary.

  • Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and drafting standards within the architectural team.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architecture.

  • Commercial office and multi-story building project experience is required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of architectural documentation and construction detailing.

  • Practical knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and engineering coordination.

  • Solid understanding of current building codes, zoning requirements, and construction regulations.

  • Experience producing detailed construction documents using Revit.
