Job description

PMA has immediate openings for a full-time multi-year position of Assistant Project Manager/Assistant Owner's Project Manager to support major building rehabilitation, sustainability, and/or new construction projects in the Central Massachusetts area. The successful candidate(s) will work closely with the existing PMA OPM team and be physically located on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects through all phases in a project life cycle, from inception to close-out.
Organizational Responsibilities
  • Solicitation of Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) for both Design Consultants and General Contractors,
  • Prepare, coordinate, and review consultant and/or General Contractor RFQs/RFPs,
  • Assist in coordinating and securing all necessary internal and external project approvals,
  • Provide technical and professional assistance in ranking and evaluating proposals,
  • Drive the contract and fee negotiation process for A/Es or GCs,
  • Work in conjunction with the consultants during the design phase to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and schedule
  • Manages the consultant, contractor, and engineering services during the construction phase
  • Manages the various key stakeholders and project participants through construction and project completion
  • Coordinate and communicate with the project stakeholders
  • Provides supervision and technical guidance to assistant project managers, engineers, resident engineers and support staff on assigned projects
  • Responsible for the project schedule and project budget, in tandem, through all phases of the project's life cycle

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field required.
  • 0+ years of related experience working as part of a project team.
  • Experience in project design and construction elements strongly preferred.
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, as necessary, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand plans and specifications, are required.
  • An exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously is required.
  • Proficiency in using MS Excel and managing MS SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required.
  • Working knowledge of PMWeb or Procore preferred
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar software preferred.
  • Ability to pass a security background check required
  • Experience and working knowledge of the Massachusetts public bidding process and public bidding laws preferred (i.e. MGL Ch. 25A, 149, 149A)

$83,470 - $103,700 a year
The salary range for this position is $83,470 to $103,700.
A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
