Job description

Gale Associates, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Manager to join our Rockland, MA office to work with a dynamic team of designers on projects involving new and existing buildings. Gale is a well-respected national engineering/planning firm celebrating over 62 years in business and rated one of Zweig Group's "Best Firms to Work For" for the past 13 consecutive years.
Position Responsibilities:
  • The selected candidate will serve as Project Manager on a variety of projects involving the evaluation and rehabilitation of existing structures and facades. Responsibilities also include design of structural augmentation of existing structures and superstructure/foundation systems for new structures.
  • Preparation of drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and correspondence as well as performing construction observations and meeting with clients.
  • Mentoring is an important responsibility of our Project Managers and is critical to the success of our structural team.
  • Responsible for the technical and financial performance of projects.
  • Assist with writing proposals and business development efforts.
  • Ability to present and represent Gale at Client meetings and obligations
  • Position requires both office and field work - primarily in the greater Boston and New England area.

Requirements:
  • A B.S. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 10+ years of experience. At least 3 years of proven project management experience.
  • P.E. or S.E. Registration.
  • Knowledge of concrete, masonry restoration, steel design, timber design, waterproofing, and building envelope assemblies.
  • Proficiency using structural analysis software.
  • Solid communication/presentation/writing skills.
  • Ability to lead design teams and mentor junior staff.
