What is the average salary of a web dev?

The average salary of a web developer varies by experience, location, and skill set, but generally ranges from $60,000 to $110,000 annually. Progressive Web App developers, a specialized web development role, tend to earn towards the higher end of this range due to their expertise in modern web technologies and frameworks.

How to make money with PWA?

Progressive Web App (PWA) developers can monetize their skills by creating and selling custom PWAs, offering maintenance and support services, or developing applications for clients that generate revenue through subscriptions, in-app purchases, or advertising. Building expertise in web technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and service workers can enhance earning potential in this field.

What are the downsides of progressive web apps?

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) can have limited access to device hardware and features compared to native apps, which may restrict functionality. They also depend on browser support and internet connectivity, potentially affecting performance and user experience on some devices or in offline scenarios.

Is the Progressive Web App still a thing?

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) remain relevant in the tech industry as they enable developers to create web applications that function like native apps across devices. They are widely used for improving user experience, offline access, and performance, and skills in web development, JavaScript, and service workers are valuable for PWA-related roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Progressive Web App position, and why are they important?

To be a successful Progressive Web App (PWA) developer, you need solid expertise in front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, along with a good understanding of web performance and responsive design. Familiarity with tools like service workers, Web App Manifests, and version control systems (e.g., Git) is crucial, and certifications in web development can be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and adaptability to evolving web standards help developers excel in collaborative and fast-paced environments. These capabilities ensure the delivery of reliable, engaging, and performant web applications that meet both user and business needs.

What is a Progressive Web App job?

A Progressive Web App (PWA) job typically involves designing, developing, and optimizing web applications that provide a native app-like experience. PWAs use modern web technologies like service workers, push notifications, and offline capabilities to enhance performance and user engagement. Professionals in this field may work with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js, along with backend technologies to create secure and efficient applications. Their role often includes ensuring cross-browser compatibility, improving load speeds, and implementing progressive enhancement strategies.

What are some common challenges developers face when building and maintaining Progressive Web Apps?

Developers working on Progressive Web Apps often encounter challenges such as managing reliable offline functionality, ensuring fast load times on diverse devices, and addressing cross-browser compatibility. Keeping up with evolving PWA standards and integrating features like push notifications or background sync can require continuous learning and adaptation. Collaboration with designers, backend developers, and QA specialists is typically necessary to deliver a seamless, user-friendly experience. These challenges offer valuable opportunities to problem-solve and innovate while working in dynamic, cross-functional teams.

Job description

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will lead the development of a performant, responsive, real-time frontend application that powers the Reya DEX and Network. You'll work closely with a highly technical team to craft a seamless user experience in a fast-paced, data-intensive DeFi environment.
We are a fully remote, forward-thinking team with an ambitious roadmap and a strong bias toward execution.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about DeFi, Web3, engineering rigor, security, and speed, and who brings 8+ years of frontend engineering experience with a deep commitment to code quality and modern testing practices.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture and development of Reya's real-time trading and network interface
  • Build highly performant, responsive UI components for data-heavy DeFi applications
  • Design frontend systems that handle live market data, state synchronization, and complex user interactions
  • Collaborate closely with backend, protocol, and design teams to deliver a seamless product experience
  • Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and maintainability across the frontend codebase
  • Contribute to frontend security practices and safe interaction with on-chain systems
  • Optimize performance for low-latency updates and real-time feedback
  • Participate in technical discussions, reviews, and roadmap execution
  • Real-Time Interface Development: Design and implement dynamic, interactive user interfaces that can handle real-time data feeds, such as live order book updates, price updates, trade executions. Your work will directly impact the user experience for traders.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with the product team and UX/UI designer to translate complex requirements into engaging, intuitive interfaces. Work side-by-side with backend engineers to ensure smooth data flow and API integration.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize application performance through efficient code, advanced rendering techniques, and smart resource management. You will focus on minimizing load times and ensuring smooth, lag-free interactions even under heavy data loads.
  • Responsive Design: Build responsive and accessible frontends that perform consistently across different devices and browsers, ensuring a high-quality user experience on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Modern Frontend Architecture: Utilize modern frontend frameworks (such as React) and state management libraries to architect scalable and maintainable codebases. Embrace best practices in component design, testing, and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years in frontend development with a solid background in building high-performance, real-time web applications
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript & TypeScript, modern web frameworks, and advanced CSS techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of the architecture of performant client-side React applications
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift rapidly. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills help drive project success.
  • You have a strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and are well-versed in testing methodologies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with web sockets or other real-time data protocol.
  • Prior experience working closely with product, design, and backend teams in a remote or distributed setting

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in frontend development, particularly within fintech, trading, or real-time data applications.
  • Knowledge of server-side rendering (e.g., Next.js) and progressive web app (PWA) development is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and delivery processes
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the web3 frontend stack (ethers/viem, client-side private key management, etc.)
